The Home Prepper is based in South Africa and publishes the website at thehomeprepper.com/book. For questions about your personal information or this notice, contact support@thehomeprepper.com.
Information we handle
- Website delivery and security: our hosting and security provider may process your IP address, requested page, browser and device details, request time, and security-related information to deliver and protect the website.
- Support: when you email us, we receive your email address, name if provided, message, and any order details or attachments you choose to include. Please do not send passwords, full payment-card details, or unnecessary medical information.
- Orders: purchases take place on Digistore24. We may receive the order information needed to provide product access, help you with an order, or manage a refund, such as your name, email, order identifier, purchased product, and payment/refund status. Payment details are handled through the checkout provider; this website does not contain a payment-card form.
- Video: the embedded presentation is delivered by Wistia. Loading the player connects your browser to Wistia and can disclose technical information needed to deliver the video.
Why we use information
We use information to operate and secure the site, answer your requests, support product delivery and refunds, keep required transaction records, and meet applicable legal obligations. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, processing may be necessary to provide the service you request, meet a legal obligation, pursue legitimate operational and security interests, or act on your consent. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Cookies and tracking
This version of the site does not install its own advertising pixels or marketing analytics. Fonts and product images are hosted with the website. The five-minute purchase-button timer runs in the page and does not create a tracking cookie or store a cross-visit identifier.
The Wistia player is configured to request doNotTrack=true to disable viewing-session tracking. Wistia and Cloudflare may still process technical information and use technologies necessary for video delivery, security, or fraud prevention. Your browser can block or delete cookies, although doing so may affect embedded content. Digistore24 applies its own privacy and cookie settings after you follow a checkout link.
Service providers and sharing
We share information only as needed for the purposes described here, including with service providers that help deliver the site, email, video, and orders; when required by law; or to protect lawful rights and security. The services used for this site include:
- Cloudflare for website hosting, DNS, delivery, and security.
- Zoho for domain email services.
- Wistia for the embedded video.
- Digistore24 for checkout, transaction processing, and order-related services.
These providers may process information outside South Africa. Where applicable, cross-border processing must be subject to the protections required by the relevant privacy law. Providers also publish their own notices for processing they control. We do not sell personal information collected through this site.
Retention and security
We retain support and order information for as long as reasonably needed to deal with your request, provide the product, manage refunds or disputes, and comply with applicable record-keeping obligations. Information may be retained longer where a legal requirement or unresolved dispute requires it. Hosting, email, video, and checkout providers have their own retention schedules.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information handled. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, or delete your information, object to or request restrictions on certain processing, or request a copy in a portable format where that right applies. Contact support@thehomeprepper.com. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity, and some requests may be limited by lawful retention duties. You will not be penalised for exercising a privacy right.
You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa or another competent privacy regulator where applicable.
Children
The site and offer are intended for adults. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us without the required authorisation, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes and contact
We will update this notice when the site or our practices materially change. The effective date appears above. A privacy notice explains our practices; simply visiting the website is not treated as consent to optional marketing. For privacy requests, email support@thehomeprepper.com.
